This is my Hangover Recovery Place!
A fantastic little cafe in West Norwood, offering everything from English Breakfast to more Portuguese influenced dishes (it is a Portuguese Restaurant after all!).
Service is great and while it is not the most stylish place in the world, it is good based on the area.
Well worth popping in for some lunch some time. - And if it is a Saturday morning and you see a rather dishevelled group of people in the corner eating Full English with a beer, that may well be me and my friends! -

This little cafe has two things going for it. The head waitress is awesome & the food is cheap. However, if u are Portuguese & know the cuisine well u will be disappointed. They obviously catering to the English palette what with brown sauce on peri peri chicken. Portions are plentiful, chips are great & so is the salad.

This is one of the first places I went to with friends upon arriving in London. My Brazilian friends like to go there because the owners are Portuguese, and there are some dishes with a Portuguese influence. However, most of the food seems to be suited to British tastes, they even offer an English breakfast and jacket potatoes, though chips aren't on the menu.
Out of the two times I have been, I have ordered the penne pasta with onions and sausage, for the reasonable price of 4.95. It's a menu item that has exactly what I want in a meal, so I can't persuaded to try other things just yet; the fulfillment that dish offers is just too great.
Overall, this is a reasonable and cute cafe off the high street with friendly people and good tasting food, pop in for lunch sometime. -

In my opinion the nicest place to eat in West Norwood. There isn't a lot of competition but among that that there is O Girosol is the most friendly. Children are really made a fuss of by the owner and his colleagues. You can have a good tuck in to fresh and simple meals with an excellent coffee and if you wish you can have a glass of wine as it is licensed. Opens on Sundays too if you can't be bothered to do the Sunday roast yourself. I much prefer this to nearby Sorrento which is a bit overpriced and the quality of food is what you'd expect from ingredients apparently from Lidl no attempts to hide the labels.
In O Girosol they serve generous portions with a smile and a joke and it's a cosy place to go on a chilly day. -

Great little Portuguese restaurant. Clean and friendly and miles better than any of the greasy spoon and fried chicken joints that populate most of Norwood High Street. The custard cakes and rice cakes (Bollos) are great.
